RHMS of Serbia is the referential organization for making and presenting of weather forecasts and for issuing severe weather warnings.
Weather forecast for ten major towns in Serbia, for current day and tomorrow. Updated twice a day.
Water forecast from 2 to 4 days for 20 stations on the Danube, Tisa, Sava and Morava, for other rivers when needed.
Information about actual water status and prospects. Updating is once per day.
Seasonal weather forecast is made in the form of textual bulletin and graphics for 7 months in advance. Updated once a month.
Numerical weather prediction
Numerical weather prediction method uses mathematical formulation of atmospheric processes to predict the weather. Model is computer program that produces meteorological information about future state of the atmosphere.
Republic Hydrometeorological Service of Serbia runs two models operationaly. Eta model is running twice a day on DWD boundary conditions for 120 hours of forecast. Domain covers Europe, East Atlantic and Northern part of Africa
WRF-NMM model, created in NCEP (National Center for Enviromental Prediction) Washington is next-generation mesoscale model with sophisticated physics and new numerical approach. Current horizontal resolution is about 10km, number of numerical points is 92x118. Model is running twice a day on ECMWF boundary conditions for 48 hours ahead. Domain covers Balkan and Adriatic Sea.
